What we are excited to see at London Fashion Week

Starting on Thursday the 13th September is the highly anticipated highlight of the city, and that is London Fashion Week. It is a time where the top fashion houses come out to play and leading designers show their wears.

From Burberry to Erdem, Mary Katrantzou (who will celebrate her brand’s 10th anniversary) and Christopher Kane this select group of prestigious creatives will show us the best of ready-to-wear.

Their pieces are exactly what we should be wearing next season! It is also a place where accessories are shown, for example, the likes of Anya Hindmarch presents her gorgeous handbag collection via a very eccentric, fun-filled show and then there is always Sophia Webster and Nicholas Kirckwood who have all your footwear needs covered!

As always, expect heavenly colour and textile clashes from the duo, Peter and Christopher who make up the brand Peter Pilotto. They really do excel when it comes to their choices of colourways, the fit of their clothes and oh-so-stylish embellishment detail that is normally in the form of delicate Swarovski crystals.

Excitingly, look out for Victoria Beckham as she will bring her show to the London schedule for the first time to celebrate a decade in business (she has had a history of showing her collection in the other fashion capital that is New York).

Burberry is also hotly tipped as the beloved British fashion house will present its first and much anticipated collection under Riccardo Tisci, the new Chief Creative Officer on Monday – a day that is known for showing the best of the best.

Form fitting Roland Mouret, a firm favourite of the week will be showing, is there a designer that makes a better block coloured dress? Let us not forget the royal favourites that are Temperley London and Jenny Packham with their meticulously intricate dresses that feature shimmery, fit-for-a-princess type silhouettes (cue Kate Middleton and her sister Pippa Middleton).

What’s more, Packham will be marking her 30th anniversary of her namesake brand, so it will be one not to miss!

Young designer, Molly Goddard who was the recipient of the very prestigious 2018 British Fashion Council/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund will show on Saturday afternoon, followed by two-time winner at The Fashion Awards 2017 in partnership with Swarovski, Jonathan Anderson, who will present a co-ed show for his eponymous label JW Anderson.

No doubt this catwalk will shock and make waves, but we won’t know until we see it!
